Solar Light and Energy
We are a family owned and operated green energy business located in Central Oregon. We strive to brighten our world with the highest quality of tubular skylights: Solatube.
We use green practices fueling our fleet with Biodiesel. Biodiesel is 80% less polluting than regular diesel, and is a Carbon net 0 fuel.
Our main office is built with straw bales, this green building is a simple example of our devotions to the earth and green energy practices.
We are a trade allied with the Energy Trust of Oregon. The ENERGY TRUST MISSION is to change how Oregonians produce and use energy by investing in efficient technologies and renewable resources that save dollars and protect the environment.

Kurt’s wisdom carries through in his simplicity. He is a man of the sun, and brings light to all his activities in life. He is a bright light, and installing Solatubes has been just another accent of his brilliant, wise spirit. Kurt has been installing Solatubes for the since 2007. Kurt comes from carpentry past, building from the ground up straw bale homes and other green buildings. He is also an artist of wood and other mediums, carving north western design masks and totems.
Dave Engaman “the mechanical monk”:
There is nothing that Dave cannot do when he puts his mind to it. Dave is an avid advocate for the earth and has lead eco-cleanup projects, to pioneering solar projects with NASA. Bringing light to the world is another way Dave brightens this world. Dave has been installing Solatube since 2004 and originally trained Brennan in Solatubes. Dave’s attention to detail lead to his name “the mechanical monk” as he would “meditate” on a given projects, till he could see how it would all work together.
